Heart of Fife Parish Church

In line with the Fife Presbytery Mission Plan, the Kirk Sessions and congregations of Christ’s Kirk, St Columba’s, St Margaret’s, St Ninian’s, Leslie Trinity and Markinch & Thornton have voted to unite to form Heart of Fife Parish Church (Glenrothes, Leslie, Markinch & Thornton) on July 1st.  

There will be many questions about what this means in practice. We know some things, but most things will be worked out as we journey together in worship, pastoral care and mission. We will be praying and trying to discern how we can share the love of God and the Good News of Jesus, guided by the Holy Spirit.

The ministry team will include Rev. Alan Kimmitt, Rev. Conor Fegan plus another minister still to be called, John Hutchison (Parish Assistant), Sandra Davie (part-time Children and Families Worker) and Irene Ure (part-time Coordinator). The new Kirk Session will be formed by all the elders from the existing Kirk Sessions.

The pattern of worship will be determined by the new Kirk Session and there will be changes, with more shared services and, hopefully, more flexibility to provide different types of worship and services for people who work on Sundays or work shifts.
